Privacy Policy
Lucid Tiles collects no personal data. Here's exactly what that means.
Privacy Policy for Lucid Tiles
Last updated: May 25, 2026
1. Summary
Lucid Tiles is an offline visual-memory puzzle game. It does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data with us or any third party. No account, no sign-up, and no internet connection are required to play. The only data that ever leaves your device is your own game progress, and only if you choose to sync it between your devices through your personal iCloud account.
2. Information We Collect
None. Lucid Tiles does not collect any personal information, device identifiers, advertising IDs, usage analytics, or crash reports. There is no telemetry of any kind. We — the developer — never receive any data from your use of the app.
3. Local Data Storage
The following data is stored only on your device, in the operating system's standard preferences storage (UserDefaults):
- Level progress (highest level reached, stars, completion status per level type)
- Best scores, total score, and Visual Memory Index statistics
- App settings (sound, haptics, language, theme preferences)
- Tutorial completion flags
Saved progress is signed with a local integrity check (HMAC-SHA256) derived from your device, so that a tampered or corrupted file is detected and reset on launch. The signing key is generated on-device and is never transmitted.
Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.
4. iCloud Sync (Apple's Service, Optional)
If you are signed in to iCloud on your Apple device and iCloud Drive / Key-Value Store is enabled, iOS automatically syncs Lucid Tiles' progress key-value data between your own devices using Apple's NSUbiquitousKeyValueStore. This means:
- Your progress travels between your own Apple devices through your personal iCloud account.
- The data flows through Apple's infrastructure only. We — SBK Software — have no servers, no database, and no way to view, access, or recover this data.
- Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's own Privacy Policy.
- You can disable this sync at any time in iOS Settings → your Apple ID → iCloud → Lucid Tiles.
5. Third-Party Services
Lucid Tiles does not integrate any third-party SDK that collects, stores, or transmits user data. Specifically, the app does not use:
- Analytics (Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, etc.)
- Crash reporting (Crashlytics, Sentry, Bugsnag, etc.)
- Advertising networks (AdMob, Meta Audience Network, Unity Ads, etc.)
- Authentication, messaging, or remote configuration services
- Tracking or fingerprinting libraries
- Game Center leaderboards or achievements
The only Apple system service the app uses is the optional iCloud key-value sync described above.
6. Permissions
Lucid Tiles requests no sensitive permissions. It does not access:
- Microphone, camera, photos, contacts, or location
- Network access for sending data anywhere
- Health, motion, or any other system sensors
- The advertising identifier (IDFA) — App Tracking Transparency is not invoked because there is nothing to track
7. Children's Privacy
Lucid Tiles is suitable for ages 4+ and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children. Because no personal data is collected, transmitted, or processed by us, COPPA (US) and GDPR-K (EU) obligations regarding children's personal data do not apply on our side. iCloud sync, when enabled, operates under the rules of the Apple ID it is signed into.
8. Data Security
Because no data leaves your device for our servers (we have none), there is no transmission to secure on our side. Local data is stored inside your device's app sandbox, protected by the operating system's standard application isolation and additionally integrity-signed by the app itself. iCloud-synced progress is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple.
9. Your Rights
Since Lucid Tiles does not collect or hold any of your data on our infrastructure, there is nothing for us to access, export, correct, or delete on our side. To clear all local data, uninstall the app. To clear iCloud-synced progress, sign out of iCloud or remove Lucid Tiles' data from iCloud in iOS Settings.
This applies regardless of jurisdiction (GDPR, CCPA, KVKK, etc.) — we hold no personal data to act upon.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy if the app's behavior changes (for example, if optional accounts, leaderboards, or analytics are added in a future version). Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
